Modena manager Walter Novellino has told Italian publication Gazetta Di Modena that he would like to see Leeds midfielder Tommaso Bianchi return to the club.

Novellino says he’s missing a player like Bianchi, one he claims would offer the club “five or six goals per year” but the deal is made “impossible” by Leeds owner Massimo Cellino who won’t let him leave, despite Novellino claiming Bianchi wants to return to Italy.

Bianchi has made 23 appearances for Leeds since arriving at the club this summer and been subject to some fairly mixed reviews from fans. The 26-year-old spent last season on loan to Modena where he scored 3 times in 41 appearances.

Elsewhere today, Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli is reporting via his Twitter feed that Leeds United have completed the signing of centre-back Sol Bamba.

Bamba, now 30, is a towering hulk of a defender who made 51 appearances for Leicester City from 2011-2012. He spent the following season at Turkish side Trabzonspor before joining Palermo last summer where he’s since struggled to make an impact but with Giuseppe Bellusci banned following a red card against Bournemouth last night, his arrival will be a welcomed one for Neil Redfearn.

No confirmation of Bamba’s arrival from the club just yet, but Ema Giulianelli has a solid record when it comes to Leeds United transfers so I’d expect an announcement shortly.
