Bremner lifting the FA Cup (1972)

For the second year running, Prostate Cancer UK are the official charity of the Football League and have asked The Scratching Shed to take part in a promotional campaign which aims to crown the greatest ever Football League captain.

Representing Leeds United, the choice was a pretty simple one. Despite an impressive list of inspirational figures which includes the likes of Gordon Strachan and Lucas Radebe, no one comes close to the legacy Billy Bremner left behind.

Reading this, you’re probably a Leeds United fan so need little convincing of Billy Bremner’s genius – it’s hard-coded into your DNA. But if the rest of the Football League are to accept no man was greater, The Scratching Shed needs your vote.
