October’s confidence polls follow a pretty turbulent month for The Whites. Attention continues to centre on protracted takeover talks at Elland Road, while on the pitch, Leeds have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 2 of their Championship matches since our last poll. Meanwhile, Neil Warnock’s side advanced to the next round of the League Cup following a 2-1 win over Premier League Everton.

As before, we’ve prepared 3 polls that will run for the next 48 hours. All you have to do is select your level of confidence in the manager, chairman and Leeds United’s promotion chances.

Once the polls have closed, we’ll average out the results to give a confidence level from 0-5 in each of the categories. We’ll then compare the results to last months poll to see how the club’s fortunes have effected confidence levels thus far.

Please feel free to post comments explaining your votes, this helps us to summarise the general mood of Leeds United fans when posting the results.

5 people have total confidence in bates? who are these people and how come ive never met one?

    • Bob

Surely you must have confidence in Mr Bates …. Who else could’ve dumped last years midfield on Norwich, turning them into relegation fodder and replaced them at a fraction of the cost … lol (only joking)

    • Robert Bapty

I’m sure no Leeds United fans have any confidence in Bates, my guess is it will be Hull, Huddersfield or Bradford fans that are logging in to vote as they are more interested in their our club than their own! MOT

  2. pete58

the last question’s a bit difficult to answer, due to the result of the second.

  3. Woody

The reason why you have not met any of them is because there are only 5 of them and if asked they would not admit it as they would struggle to explain why

  4. jason saville

im with pete on this i put low confidence for promotion as i think we must strengthen in january & as per previous transfer windows with Ken in charge its a case of who’s leaving not who’s signing. its time for new owner ship as i have no confidence in Ken Bates leadership.

  5. marccollins62

I also put low confidence in promotion due entirely to the fact that Bates is still there at the moment. If he goes and the new owners are true to their word I would be at least confident. Bates out for a brighter future. People with total confidence in Bates… unbelievable :)

  6. Craig Sweaton

I have some confidence in the manager because he’s very good however, without enough players at his disposal it’s going to be a very difficult season.
I have almost no confidence in the chairman and do I really need to explain why?!
It amuses me that so many people are confident of our promotion chances. It’s two months into the season and our players are dropping like flies, with only youth team players in reserve…..please be realistic people.

    • mrbigwheels

Reality Craig is that two months is a long time. We have made massive progress in assembling a team with no budget above the buy to sell policy. Players are gelling together. Yes a few injuries and some of those players are near ready to to back in the team. George Boyd is coming to us and another two will strengthen the squad fairly soon. It will happen Craig. Leeds will be owned by someone other than Bates by Christmas with Leeds progressing and rising to the challenge. I am highly confident with question 1, confident with question 3 and confident that Bates will ‘do the right thing and sell this club’, which is a totally different stance to having confidence in Bates as on going Chairman.. I have very little confidence in Leeds, Warnock or the Team achieving top table if Bates stays around, purely on the single point of … He’s never invested in the Team or his Managers to make things happen…. and he could easily have done.

      • bluesman

Accurate to the point and very objective as usual Mr Bigwheels. I share your optomism on promotion, provided bates fucks off!!

  7. disgruntled with the parasite

High confinece in Warnock, doing a decent job with poor resources. Absolutely no confidence in Bates, the man disgusts me and I won’t be attending til he’s gone, irrespective of how the team are performing (it is hurting tho, must be said). Low confidence in promotion cos if the parasite is still here come January it will be another 3 steps backward.

Bates has improved in my view after the recent statements. There feels a realistic chance that he is going which makes me look much more favourably on him. Congratulations Ken, I’ve giving you a 1 – Extremely Low Confidence which is a big improvement on my last vote. Keep up the good work.

So that’s Ken and Mrs Ken who have total confidence in Ken’s chairmanship – who are the others ? ‘Udders fans ? Waiters at his favourite Monaco cafe ? I suspect even Shaun Harvey’s vote has slipped from ‘Total Confidence’ to ‘I’m not quite sure I want to carry on working for this paranoid meglamaniac anymore, get me out of here’ .

Neil Warnock came to us during one of our many lows.
He immediately turned his attention to the long suffering fans, telling us more about what was happening.
No other manager in the last seven years, has shown us much respect or appreciation.
He knows how Mr Bates views us, and probably everyone else he comes in contact with.
He himself has tasted disappointment, having been let down in the transfer market by KB.
He is open in his press conferences, and interviews and is an excellent man manager.
He is our best hope of success, and a good judge of a footballer.

  11. Shay McCann Dublin

very happy with how NW is about his task
KB has done a good job but its time to move on thanks
    Promotion so far so good

  12. ShaneLUFCforever

I have no Confidence in KB. The sooner he is out of ER then the better. Then we might get back to seeing 25k+ at every home match. January is such an important time for squad building and hopefully some funds in the pot will enable NW to bring in some great additions. I have been to every home game so far and the fans have been great but we just need to keep behind the team……the end of the bates rule is nearly here!!!!

  13. Ciaran

I do thank Bates for what he done but this is about confidence and i have no confidence that he can take the club forward now Warnock although i was never a fan of his attitude he has proven that with very little he can do so much and i am confident that with investment he can do the job now promotion i am not fully confident as with squad size we may be a bit short this year unless investment is made this winter in the team.

  14. Bluesman

NW is the man of the moment. He is doing a fantastic job under difficult circumstances – no one could ask for more. He has been dedicated, hard working, truthful and built a side good enough to challenge. If he gets a bit of cash soon, he will have a right push at promotion. I have every confidence in this man. It is a shame he is 63 because he is one of the best managers around. Just love warnock being the manager of Leeds. Warnock is a mighty, mighty man!!!
