Neil Warnock has completed his second deal in as many days, agreeing to sign centre-mid Paul Green on July 1st. Green is believed to have rejected offers of a new deal at Pride Park prior to agreeing to join Leeds.

Aged 29, Green’s career takes in 277 appearances for Doncaster Rovers between 2001-8, and 121 league appearances for Derby County. Green has 12 caps for the Republic of Ireland, the most recent coming as a sub against Spain in Euro 2012.

Speaking to the Official Site, Warnock said:

Paul is another player I’ve been after for a long time, but obviously he was called up by Ireland for the European Championships so we’ve had to be a bit patient.

I’ve seen him grow from his days at Doncaster and I’m delighted to have him here.

I’ve always thought that he is a player who can create goals as well as score them, and he has just the type of attitude we need at Elland Road.
