Leeds United head to the KC Stadium tonight as rank outsiders, to take on a Hull City side who under the guidance of Nick Barmby, have the best defensive record in the Championship and are considered to be strong play-off contenders by Neil Warnock. .

Hull City will have to overcome one of the Championship’s best attacking records if they’re to keep up the play-off chase. Leeds United are a side that have no trouble finding the back of the net, having scored 20 times more this season than Hull City.

This does however overshadow the fact that The Whites haven’t scored in their two games thus far under Neil Warnock. Leeds’ new manager yesterday joked about how he was “changing things round” with regards to Leeds United scoring almost at will.

Team News

Leeds United have several injury problems ahead of tonight’s fixture, with Aidy White and Leigh Bromby both doubtful and Alex Bruce out with a hamstring injury. Leeds will also be without Mika Varnynen and long-term absentee Davide Somma, who Neil Warnock admitted is unlikely to feature at all this season.

The Whites will be able to call upon the services of Bolton Wanderers left back Paul Robinson who has been brought in on a 30 day emergency loan deal and will be available for selection tonight.

Hull City meanwhile have almost a full squad to choose from, with only Robbie Brady out injured.

Past Meetings

Leeds United haven’t lost to Hull City in their last 5 meetings, winning 3 and drawing 2. The all time record between the two sides is 20 wins to Leeds, 12 to Hull City and 9 draws.

Form (Last Six)

Hull City are undefeated in their last six Championship matches, winning 2 and drawing 4. They currently rank 7th in the Championship form table.

Leeds United meanwhile have lost 3 of their last six, winning 2 and drawing 1, leaving them 12th in the Championship form table.

The BBC points out that Hull are the only club in the top nine that 10th placed Leeds have beaten this season. They have lost eight of the 12 matches against clubs above them in the table.

Nick Barmby has called on the expected capacity crowd at the KC Stadium tonight to out-sing the travelling Leeds United fans. Travelling Whites fans should be on-guard against a potential Tiger mauling (as seen below).
