Ahead of the Tuesday night home game against Hull City, we take a look back at previous meetings, the season-so-far and other random bits of footballing type stuff all in a statistical format.

Previous meetings

Since relegation from the Premier League, half of the battles contested between Leeds United and Hull City have ended in draws. Of the other three, The Whites have won two and lost only once to The Tigers (ra, ra, ra).

Our all-time record v Hull is 19 wins, 9 draws and 12 defeats.

Goals Average

There has been 106 goals in the 40 meetings between these two sides – an average of 2.65 per game.

The average scoreline is Leeds United 1.55 – 1.10 Hull City

Last Meeting

The last time these two sides met was at The KC Stadium in February. Hull City took a 2-0 first half lead, but Leeds United fought back to rescue a point with goals from Robert Snodgrass and Davide Somma coming either side of half-time.

Interestingly, both matches between the two sides last season ended in a 2-2 draw.

Form

Hull City started the season with defeats at home to Blackpool in the league (0-1) and Macclesfield Town in the League Cup (0-2). They did however record a surprise victory away to Ipwsich Town on Saturday which suggests some upturn in form following their embarrassing League Cup exit to Macclesfield.

Leeds United meanwhile have lost both their league games with a 3-1 opening day defeat to newly promoted Southampton and a 0-1 loss to Middlesbrough at Elland Road. The only victory for Leeds United so far this season came in the League Cup with a 3-2 win at Elland Road over local rivals Bradford City.

Discipline

Leeds United have the worst discipline record in the Championship having collected 9 yellow and 2 red cards in just two games. Conversely, Hull City have one of the best with just 3 yellow cards from their opening two fixtures.

Shooting

In their two game so far, Leeds United have managed just 13 shots, 8 of which were on target for an accuracy rating of 0.62. Hull City meanwhile have taken 21 shots with 12 of those hitting the target for an accuracy rating of 0.57

Dangermen

Hull City’s biggest goal threat is likely to be Matt Fryatt who was the club’s top goalscorer last season with 11 goals and has already scored his first of this campaign.

The fact Luciano Becchio (19), Max Gradel (18) and Davide Somma (11) scored more than or equal to their top goalscorer last season should have Hull shaking in their boots. But with Luciano Becchio and Davide Somma out injured and Max Gradel suspended following his sending off against Middlesbrough, that particular statistic loses all relevance.

Leeds will be looking to Ross McCormack and possibly Ramon Nunez to fill the void left by the absence of several key players.
