Loan Watch: Clayton's spell ends in defeat Tim Hodge May 20, 2011 Loan watch 1 Comment Elland Road newbie Clayton Adam Clayton was unfortunate to experience the horrible taste of play-off defeat on Thursday night. He played the full ninety minutes for MK Dons who, leading 3-2 from the first leg of the semi-final, went down 2-0 away to Peterborough. Clayton’s spell at MK Dons has now come to an end and he will join up with the Leeds United squad for pre-season. It is disappointing for the young midfielder who impressed greatly in the first leg and was many fans’ pick for man-of-the-match. His opportunities with the Dons had been limited mostly to substitute appearances until the last few games where he really started to have an impact for the side. Though the second leg defeat is a massive blow, hopefully his recent performances will give him the confidence to impress during pre-season and work his way into Simon Grayson’s plans for the next campaign.
