Two in two for Grella

Mike Grella
Bristol Rovers 1 – 1 Carlisle United

An 87th minute tap-in from Mike Grella cancelled out Chris Lines’ second half goal for the Cumbrians, but Carlisle will feel they should have left Bristol with all three points after missing a stoppage time penalty.

Mike Grella’s tap-in was his second goal in as many games with the American once again playing all 90 minutes for Greg Abbott’s side.

Squad list update

Last week I revealed that Mike Grella had been removed from the Leeds United squad list and questioned whether this meant his time at Elland Road was drawing to a close.

I contacted Leeds United the next day with regards to this matter and received a reply from Peter Lockwood, The Player Liason Officer at the club who explained Mike’s absence from the list is solely because of his current loan. I have replied once again over the weekend asking why other loaned out players remain on the list, but have yet to receive a reply. Even so, I think it’s fair to say I may have read a little bit too much into the situation!

Tom Elliot

It seems Ronnie Moore’s patience with Tom Elliot has finally ran out as the Leeds United striker was dropped from the squad completely for Rotherham’s game this weekend. Manager, Ronnie Moore has continuously blasted Elliot in the press since he arrived in Rotherham questioning the players commitment to overcome his injury problems. The Rotherham boss previously claimed the youngster had missed 40 training sessions for the club and was debating whether to send him back to Elland Road.

Tom Lees
Aldershot 1-3 Bury

Things seem to be going much better for defender Tom Lees who played all 90 minutes for League Two side Bury in their 3-1 win over Aldershot Town. Bury currently sit third in League Two, with just one point separating the top three and their manager expects more of the same telling BBC Radio that; “I don’t like to use the word momentum but we have it at the moment.”

Glad to see grella in the goals, fingers crossed he comes back to us a better player. Elliot can go for me, hes been in and around the squad for four years now and he hasnt done anything, time to let this lad go. Lees seems to be blooming at bury and i hope that next season he can force his way into Graysons plans because this lad looks decent.

Theres a few loanee’s you havent mentioned TSS. Alan Martin wasnt in the barrow team that got hammered 5-0 so am guessing hes injured. Darville was on the bench in tranmere’s 4-2 win but didnt make an appearence, not sure if this lad has what it takes for championship football if he cant make it into a struggling league 1 team. And lastly Lubo, the big fella played alongside grella in carlisle’s draw and seems to be doing pretty well for them. Good luck to the lad, i doubt hes gonna force his way back into larrys plans but i wish him well anyway

Your right about elliot i think his big problem seems to be his attitude i have been reading wat ronnie moore has said about him not being fit poor training time keeping some people dont know how looky they are most people would love to be a footballer so lets get shut, now onto the others yes lees does look good grayson had him in first team in preseason so he must rate him,has for grella and lubo yes they are doing well maybe its down to pressure of playing for leeds some can handle it others cant ie when they go out on loan they do well when they come back its the pressure again can they handle it.For me i would give lubo anther chance he cant do any worse but im hopefull a deal for obrien can be done.

Banditsteve are you mad??? Lubo Michalic shoud nevr pull on a leeds shirt again league 1 at best and still looked shakey then why would he get another chance? fair play to the lad he tried his best so good luck to him but to be fair id rather give David Wetherall a ring and see what he is upto if we were ever desperate enough to put him in another Leeds United squad!! And Tom Elliot can jog on aswell I watched him pre-season at Guiesley And has the first touch of a cow and all the grace and flair as a giraffe with a broken leg!

The point i was trying to make playes do struggle to play at ER and a loan spell can transform players ie jermain beckford who who struggled at leeds and then went out on loan came back a different player, would love a wetherall but can you really say lubo is any worse than collins naylor it seems once you fall out with grayson thats it just ask robbo.I think everyone knows elliot wont make it.Now that all the acadamy staff have gone wat about paul hart he had the best record with young players or eddie gray who can forget the young team he built in the 80s
