The more observant of you may have noticed a new link added at the bottom of the page to a site called ‘Leeds Fans Remembrance’. The site has been setup by the friends and family of Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight and aims to raise money for Leeds-based cancer charity, Candlelighters.

Next year marks the tenth anniversary of Chris and Kevin’s death. To mark the milestone, Chris and Kevin’s family will be hosting a number of events to raise money in memory of the pair.

Those of you that were at Elland Road yesterday will have seen the launch of the fundraising campaign. T-Shirts were on sale from a stand outside the Peacock carpark and it was nice to see fans wearing them around the ground.

Several events have been organised starting on the 26th of September with the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge and finishing at Elland Road on Saturday the 3rd of April. A full list of events can be seen here.

Anyone wishing to donate to the fundraising appeal can do so by visiting the site. You can also read the latest news and goings on and the site also provides information on the chosen charity, Candlelighters. I’d like to wish the friends and family the best of luck in their efforts.
