Leeds United first came into my existence one Christmas when I was about seven, the result of a thoughtless gift from an uncle with even less interest in sport than the rest of my family. As a true Yorkshireman, he had a canny eye for a bargain, and bought the knock-off LUFC yellow away-strip for a few bob from a mate of a mate, out the back of a van in The Dragon's car park. That little yellow rag has been my call to arms ever since.
