Leeds United look set to continue their raid on recently relegated Italian side Catania as Massimo Cellino sets his sights on Argentinian winger, Lucas Castro.

Having already brought Souleymane Doukara and Giuseppe Bellusci from the former Serie A side, Massimo Cellino clearly sees an opportunity to capitalise on their relegation in his quest to bolster Leeds United’s squad.

His latest target, who has been linked by Gazetta dello Sport journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, scored 7 times in 64 appearances for Catania and fills a position Leeds United have lacked quality in since the departures of Robert Snodgrass and Max Gradel.

Giulianelli also provided an update on the pending Adryan deal, claiming it should be resolved by the weekend and Leeds plan to take the Brazilian midfielder on a season-long loan with a £4m purchase option at the end of the season.

Castro is wanted by a number of Serie A clubs so if we can get him it will be a bit of a coup. Hes a left winger.

wingers, provided that they can run and cross the ball, are very welcome. Please come!!!!

  • todgertownwhite

There’s only one loan spot left, and that’s being saved for Adryan, so any other business will have to be purchases,so I hope he’s got some dosh left to spend!

    • Chareose

How many are we allowed ?

      • TSS

We’re allowed five, but can only field three I think? Only at two since Bellusci signed aren’t we?

        • The Leeds Way

That only applies to domestic loans.

          • todgertownwhite

            there you go,teamwork!!

          • Chareose

Right so Adrian will be no 3, any more and it will limit who Hockaday can play

          • TSS

I thought they altered it after Watford loaned an entire team?

  • Tyler75

According to our tactical genius of a coach there are no ‘wingers’ anymore – so quite what he’ll make of a genuine wide-man arriving is anybody’s guess. You could bring in Ronaldo and The Hock would probably have him on the bench as an impact sub. Clown.

While I am happy we are looking at wingers, do we have to raid a relegated teams players? are they really good enough?

    • Chareose

Yes im sure we all been thinking that but to be fair they were relegated from Seria A, previous season they did well and every team in the top flight will have good players, lets hope the decent ones went to us !
The bonus they all know each other so it should help them gel

      • spellz

Well lets hope so I do not like to cast negativity about any of our new ventures but questions have to be asked when you have played so poorly in the first 4 games, I think your points are valid and I do hope it works out for us.

        M.O.T AA.

Hopefully with a name like that he can dictate matters on the left side of the pitch.
