Neil Warnock has revealed Ross McCormack will be out for the next 6-8 weeks.

The Scottish international injured his ankle and was stretchered off the pitch during Leeds United’s 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City on Saturday, leaving Neil Warnock with real problems in attack.

Speaking after tonight’s 2-3 defeat at home to Hull City, Warnock also said that there’s a possibility McCormack will need an operation on his ankle this Friday but hastened to add that it won’t effect his recovery time.

Things went from bad to worse tonight for Neil Warnock as Luciano Becchio was taken off injured midway through the second half.

The Argentinian striker was replaced by impressive looking youngster Dominic Poleon who Neil Warnock was quick to praise in his post-match interview.

The Leeds United manager has made no secret of his desire to use the loan market for reinforcements, but concedes it’s very late in the game and the best players will have been snapped up already. The finances available to Neil Warnock may also hinder his chances of finding suitable cover.
