Warnock Reignites Leeds’ Transfer Rumour Mill TSS February 27, 2012 Transfer News 6 Comments Neil Warnock’s announcement that he expects 2-3 new faces to arrive at Elland Road on emergency loan deals by the end of the week has ignited the rumour mill with speculation as to who they may be. With Adam Smith following Andros Townsend out of the door, and with Fabian Delph’s wages now off the books, Warnock has freed up the funds necessary for him to make his own- albeit temporary- mark on the team. Unsurprisingly, the focus is on Leeds United’s defence and a loan deal for Leicester City’s Matt Mills sounds like it’s almost complete. Sky Sports revealed earlier today that the two clubs have agreed terms for the £5m summer buy to join Neil Warnock at Elland Road. This means the decision is now with Mills, who is understood to be unhappy at Leicester after a fall-out with Nigel Pearson. Elsewhere, The Sun claim that Warnock has his sights on Bolton Wanderers defender Paul Robinson, whilst speculation surrounding the future of Danny Webber continues to grab the headlines. The 30-year-old free agent is believed to be considering a move to China. morleywhite Matt Connolly as also been linked. He was a key part off warnocks QPR side from last season at centre back and is currently on loan at Reading.Aparantly hes considering cutting the loan short to come to Leeds. This is only off of a rumour site tho so may not be true but he would be a good addition if true. Its nice to be linked with these experienced proven champ players instead of these young lads from the prem fringes. donnywhite @morleywhite This was the effect I was hoping for too, Warnock might be a big enough name to draw players to Leeds that wouldn’t have considered listening to Grayson lufc_chat Mills would be a good starting point for Colin, here’s hoping he can pull it off. As for that soft southern Spud Townsend, fuck off to Birmingham, if you don’t want to play for Leeds we don’t want you at Elland Road. EYLEEDS I still reckon Grayson would have been able to attract this sort of calibre of player if Bates had backed him. Having said that, time to look forward and give Colin our support and hope that Bates does likewise. He seems to have got the message with some of his recent actions so the LUST pressure may have worked a bit. Paul Robinson is the dirtiest player I have seen in a long time and I’ve always thought it was inevitable that he would end up at Elland Road. Looking forward to being the most hated club in England again with Colin in charge! number1inyorkshire Warnock is asking for 30.000 + saturday he must be kidding a 5.20 kick off on tele it will be more likely to be be 23-24 k . Add that to various sites the ugly side etc and some saints sites talking about £ 36 for a ticket with £25 for kids plus travel from southampton , most saints fans are staying home which will be lowering the attendance ,.. why is bates doing that is it a wood for the trees minute…. we need as a club to get a grip of all things football away fans are part of the day at ER they help generate the atmosphere its time to move them back and lower the prices otherwise it will be like 80s Luton with no away fans and no atmosphere Tyler75 Webber is a solid signing – he’s got pace and a good goal scoring record. We haven’t got options off the bench to change things round upfront and he’ll definitely give us that. I’m assuming he’s fit as I doubt NW would have signed him otherwise. Matt Mills would be a really positive acquisition as, apart from his quality, it would send a few messages about our ambitions and intentions to compete. Matt Connolly would also be a very good signing. Robinson’s a left-back, with Ben Parker on the comeback trail (again !) and Charlie Taylor waiting in the wings, I’m not sure that’s an area we need to strengthen. Nice to see a few more of the youth team involved in tonight’s reserve game.
