Sven Goran Eriksson “flattered” by Leeds link TSS February 3, 2012 Leeds United 8 Comments Vacant managerial positions always attract the most bizarre rumours, not least when that vacancy happens to be at Elland Road. Bookies are already offering odds on everyone from Vinnie Jones (100/1 with Sky Bet) to Eric Cantona (150/1 with Paddy Power) and the madness doesn’t stop there with former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson also considered a “wildcard” possibility at 33/1 (Labrokes and William Hill). Anyone with a modicum of common sense will have laughed off the Sven rumour instantly, but that didn’t stop a Swedish newspaper asking him about the link; “I’m out of work right now so it’s flattering to hear, but I can not say anything about it right now. There were some who called it earlier today. Their coach (Simon Grayson) was recently fired what I heard.” This madness is set to continue for a few more days yet. Leeds United chairman Ken Bates doesn’t arrive back in England until next week and the club have already made clear that Neil Redfearn will take charge this Saturday for the game against Bristol City. Current favourite for the job Lee Clark is now at even odds with most bookies whilst Neil Warnock is second favourite with odds of around 3/1.
