Going nowhere - Max Gradel

Max Gradel has finally moved to quash transfer speculation by telling supporters he’s proud to be playing for Leeds United and that he believes he’ll be at Elland Road for years to come.

The winger’s statement comes after summer-long transfer speculation has linked him with everyone from Newcastle United to French side, Lille.

Gradel said that;

“Leeds is a massive club. It is the best I have been at and to play at a club like this is a dream.

“I want to keep playing at this club for a long time to come.

“There are a lot of positives to be taken from last season and now we are ready to go again. We deserve to be in the Premier League.”

Growing speculation surrounding Gradel’s future has been fuelled by the 18 goals he scored last season and the fact he has just one year remaining on his current deal. The decision to go public with his feelings could indicate that The Whites are close to agreeing a new contract with the Ivorian.

Following a slow summer with little for Leeds United fans to cheer about, the news that Gradel is planning to stay with the club will go some way to lifting the spirits of the Elland Road faithful. A couple of additional signings and some contract extensions wouldn’t hurt either.
