Today marks the 41st birthday of Leeds United manager, Simon Grayson and whilst he’ll no doubt be too busy preparing for the match against QPR this weekend to celebrate, we didn’t want to let the day go by unnoticed.

Where I grew it was considered a right of passage to be humiliated in the local paper – The Pontefract & Castleford Express – by the publication of a dreadful childhood photo you prayed your parents had misplaced. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find anything particularly embarrassing for the Leeds United gaffer so instead provide you with a little nostalgia – a Premier League trading card from his days at Leicester City.

Happy birthday Larry. Let’s hope the lads give you the best possible present with a comfortable win over QPR this weekend.

Let’s use the occasion to recognise too that, despite a few problems and lessons learned, Grayson has done a magnificent job so far and I hope Bates will back him to the hilt this season and next!
