The ups and downs of LUFC: Chatting with a Man United fan about FA Cup tie and Beckford TSS January 2, 2010 Leeds United Friends close, enemies closer For some reason Newsnow hasn’t picked up a post from earlier today which was me chatting with a Manchester United fan about the upcoming FA Cup clash. In it, he talks about the rivalry, glory hunters and Alan Smith. For the benefit of those that missed it, you can find it here http://www.thescratchingshed.com/2010/01/manchester-united-v-leeds-fa-cup-preview/ Double your offer or look elsewhere! It’s being rumoured that Leeds United have turned down a £1.25m offer from Newcastle for Jermaine Beckford telling the Tyneside club to double the money or move on. I expected somewhere in the region of £2-3m anyway, so a doubled offer would be realistic. The move seems somewhat inevitable now, so all thats left is for Bates to squeeze as much money as possible out of the barcodes and for Simon Grayson to find a suitable replacement. Gary Hooper’s been linked and would be an ideal choice as far as I’m concerned. If Becks does go and he comes in as a replacement, we’d still take this league by storm in my opinion.
